| Here is a little space for me to show off what I have amassed over the years. Unfortunately I don't have a games room to show off to you all but it is definitely in the plans for the future. So have a look and let me know what you think! | ||
Donkey Kong I found myself (as so many others have) laid off from work last summer and I was bummed out about it. But then an idea popped into my head. I have almost all the materials I need to build another cabinet! I remember being a little kid and playing Donkey Kong in the mall and I loved it. I collected the cards, played the Atari 2600 version, and coveted the Coleco table top version. I still remember the commercial. Alas I never did get my hands on the Donkey Kong table top so it never occurred to me that I could have an actual DK machine. So I though what the hell and went to work in the shop to build myself a replica cabinet. I ordered some special bits and prices and after some time I had my very own DK cabinet that is probably 90% accurate. The coin door isn't original but I had an extra one sitting around and it doesn't bother me one bit. I also stuck a MAME'd PC in there again because I had one sitting around. |

AKA "The Beast" This thing has gone through four revisions and rebuilds believe it or not. I've changed the control panel, the artwork and the entire body a few times so the original version I made 7 years ago doesn't really exist anymore. Every step making it better and better. This monster had currently 14 systems emulated with only a few of the harder to configure systems waiting to go. I also have to finalise setting up my aimtrak light guns but for the most part it is an amazing thing sitting in the corner of the living room. When we have people over it is always a topic of discussion and wonder. I love to show people a game they haven't seen in twenty or more years and to see their faces light up. |

This little project started out because I had a small collection of gaming memorabilia that I wanted to show off and didn't have a good way to do it. It was a fun project that has three shelves and lights controlled by the arcade. Click below to see some details of how I did it. |
